The snack industry in India

A blend of crispy fried bread, potatoes, chickpeas, tangy-salty spices, chilly sauce, tamarind sauce, curd and coriander garnishing and much more, that is the Indian chaat for you. Rarely would you find any Indian who has never tasted the most famous snack of the Indian snack industry, the much loved chaat. And the variety will only make you spoilt for choices - aloo tikki, kachori with sabji, paneer tikka, raj kachori, bhalla papri, lachha tokri, pani puri, bhel puri, matar kulcha, pao bhaji, dahi bhalla, paneer masala chilla, and papri chaat. The taste only lingers long!

Spicy, and appetizing pani puri can make anyone crave for one at the very first mention of it. Earlier, served on the street stalls, pani puri and chaat have now made their way right into the lavish restaurants. Bikanervala and such other restaurants offer completely hygienic chaat including pani puri, veg snacks, and other spicy delicacies.

The snack industry in India has seen rapid growth due the increasing demand of veg snacks. It is no surprise that this industry is a major contributor in the country’s GDP. The Indian snack industry also happens to be the largest in Asia.
